Voting for the presidential election opened on Oct. 21 and close in the evening on election day, Nov. 5. Students are eligible to vote if they are 17 years and 10 months old. They must be registered 30 days before the election in which they plan to vote.
The voting will open on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m. while on Sunday, Oct. 27 the polls open at noon and close at 6 p.m. From then on, starting Oct. 28 through Nov. 1, the polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
For voters in Buda and Kyle, they can write down their votes at Buda City Hall, HCISD Academic Support Center, HCISD Transportation Main Office, Yarrington-Hays Country Transportation Department, Kyle City Hall, and Sunfield Station 2610 Main Street.

While it’s not required for voters to bring their voter registration certificate with them to the polls, it is recommended in case they are missing one of their seven forms of identification. The acceptable forms of identification are Texas Driver License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS, Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS, Texas Handgun License issued by DPS, United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph, United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph, and United States Passport (book or card).
