DECA club is where students learn how to start and maintain a business. Students meet two to three times a month and strategize how they can have a successful future in the business industry. They will host their next meeting on Nov. 21.
“Everybody is passionate about the same thing,” senior Abella Alvarado said. “We all want to come together and help each other and also just learn how to grow.”
DECA club is a friendly environment where students help each other and help improve on mistakes they may have made. They make sure everyone feels welcome so everyone can work together.
“It’s a very good way to speak out so that you’re not scared to talk to somebody,” Alvarado said. “It takes time but eventually you will get better and better.”
Participating in this club gives great benefits and advice for people who aren’t too well at speaking out in a public place. Its good to know how to speak out because they need to be able to talk to a large crowd of people, and in business meetings to be able to be clear and precise about what is being said.
“It’s actually a really nice club even if you don’t like business,” senior Yesmin Cortez said. “It’s really nice to meet other people and people who are very passionate about business and learning a lot.”
