The varsity softball team beat San Marcos 12-1 on Feb. 18. The team is ranked fifth in the district. They’ve won four games and haven’t lost one.
“It felt really good to win that game because we got to go home early because of how much we got ahead in the beginning,” senior Kinlee Mcguire said. “So we didn’t have to stay in the freezing cold rain.”
Prior to San Marcos, they won against Splendora High School 10-3 on Feb. 15. Furthermore, the team will advance in the tournament if they beat O’Connor High School and onwards play against Hays High School.
“The highlight of the game was how well our pitchers did and how well we got to cheer them on and back them up throughout the game,” Mcguire said. “They pushed through the freezing rain and pitched a really good game.”
