The JHS Audio & visual program works to improve the technical and artistic aspect of the school, enforcing lots of creativity and productivity.
“I like editing a lot, filming is also fun, but this comes easy to me, I get everything done on time,” sophomore Joseph Ruff said.
Currently, the students are creating and writing scripts using a Public Service Announcement (PSA) essay that they had written 2 weeks ago. Once they have their script written, they have to record and edit the PSA.
“Having fun, and working efficiently are 2 very important aspects of the creative workspace,” sophomore Joseph Ruff said. “When I’m older I want to go into the film industry. Probably start out as a lighting technician, then try photography and hopefully eventually be a director.”
This project can open students’ eyes up to what their future career may look like. It also can help bring out more potential in the studio.
“I get to use my own creativity and do what I want to do,” junior Gage Davidson said. “I could put this towards learning how to become a graphic designer for the military.”
Students in the AV program also have the opportunity to earn money by filming the football games.
“I like shooting because it’s fun working the cameras,” sophomore Cameron Padgett said.”Studying is the most important thing along with actually doing. That’s the way to success.”
