I am a high school student who is doing journalism because I am trying different classes to see what I’m interested in. As of now I am very interested in automotive more than any other class. Some just fun facts that I’d like to say is that I like music a lot. Corridos, and Rap are my main categories I listen to, and my favorite artist in these categories are Chino Pacas, and Kendrick Lamar. I am also thinking about learning the guitar. I also like cars. I don’t know that many parts and all even though I will learn more throughout automotive, but I still like the outside look of cars. I prefer better looking more than faster. Lastly, my dream job is being a engineer as of right now.

This car repair had costed around 40, because of the splash shield needing to be fixed and the oil leak that was found by the team in the shop.
Fixing a car usually cost a lot, depending on whats wrong. It could be small like oil changes, or big like engine repairs that get pricy. Costs also vary by where the work is done
“Fixing your car can be cheap or expensive, depending on the problem. Companies can rip you off to make more or your problem could just be pricey,” Autotech teacher Bert Bronaugh said.

Returning the Car:
The team has finished working on the car, and wants to return it to the student by putting it in the parking lot where the owner will be able to locate it.
The car had an oil leak. They had inspected the engine. Then located the faulty part that caused the leak and ensured they had finished this step.
“The car is taken to the school parking lot if its a student with school parking,” Autotech teacher Paul Anderlitch said. “It could also be a teacher or student who doesn't have a parking pass. If this is the deal then we just leave the car on the outside of automotive work area and hang onto the keys till they get them.”

A Problematic Splash Shield:
Junior, Cooper Morgan, who is part of the automotive team works to fix a the splash shield under the car.
The splash shield plays a crucial role in protecting the engine and other important components from water, mud, rocks, ect. It acts as a shield to prevent any parts from getting splashed to allow them to work efficiently.
“A car’s splash shield guards the engine and all the other components in the hood from debris, and keeps it clean,” Morgan said.
