In order to keep honoring their Hispanic ancestry, the National Spanish Honor Society (NSHS) held a ceremony on Nov. 19 to introduce new members continuing their legacy.
“It was definitely something new,” junior Lucero Hernandez-Estrada said. “It was just a great experience to see what the ceremony for it is.”
The next meeting for NSHS is Dec. 13, where students will be making paper poinsettias.
“[For] other people that don’t know Spanish, it’s a great opportunity for them to learn the language,” Estrada said.
The club is for students passionate about Spanish and who want to promote the Spanish culture.
“It was a great opportunity for me to join,” Estrada said. “It’s a way to share what it’s like to be in the Hispanic community.”
