Budafest was hosted on Dec. 6 to Dec. 8 where the annual tradition faced cold winds. The event celebrates the holiday season with festivities such as the Christmas-themed parade, festive markets, and family-friendly fun to create an enchanted experience for residents and visitors.
While the chilly temperatures were not new to Budafest, this weekend’s weather proved to be challenging because of the scattered showers and high winds. The weather, unfortunately, canceled the Snow Slide and parts of the carnival that couldn’t fit under the basketball court pavilion.
“I thought everything was pretty cool,” junior Bailey Barrett said. “But I wish it wasn’t so cold. I was freezing.”
Because Budafest is largely family-friendly, their hosted activities included ‘Pictures with Santa’, where children can pose next to a light-up Santa Claus, carnival games, and the parade through Main Street. Whether visiting for a few hours alone or bringing the family for a day out, Budafest offers something for everyone to better the holiday season.
“I thought it’d be nice seeing the kids have fun,” junior Alyssa Thongson said. “I’m also gonna be with my friends.”
