Buda Library works with Just Serve Club for Boo-da Halloween

BooDa Halloween will be held in Buda City Park, this Saturday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is free, and will consist of a haunted maze and costume contest.

“We haven’t been able to do this event in person for a few years, and I just really love seeing all the costumes that all the kids are wearing,” Buda Library Assistant Director Caitlin Foley said. “Everyone’s just really excited for Halloween.”

Different businesses and vendors will be giving out candy and having activities.

“That’s all going on at the same time but the library kind of started the event way back when,” Foley said. “We just started it with storytimes and craft activities and games but as it grew, it definitely needed to be run by the city.”

To help out with the event, the Just Serve Club emailed the Buda Library to see if they needed help.

“I was pretty excited because these events are really fun, but if we don’t have enough volunteers, they can be really stressful,” Foley said. “Just knowing we had a whole club going to come in, was really nice.”

Just Serve Volunteers will help out with facepainting and games at the event. Students can join the club though the remind code: @hfddbab.

“It’s kind of cool to see all of these high school kids so willing to do some dirty work,” Just Serve President senior Rhett Bedwell said.
